Griffith. Noble madam,

Men’s evil manners live in brass; their virtues We write in water. May it please your highness To hear me speak his good now?

Speeches (Lines) for Griffith in “Henry VIII"1より

I become interested in Henry VIII because of a comic and a musical.

So, I rented Shakespeare’s ‘Henry VIII’, translated by Kazuko Matsuoka, from the college library.

I thought all of Henry’s wifes would apper, but they do not. In the play, Only the first two wives apper.

But it is very enjoyable and worth reading.

Here, I note the secen I liked:

The scene where Griffith tells Queen Katharin what was good about Wolsey.

How could she propose it to her own master, who was having a hard time with Wolsey, and how could Queen Katharine listen to her… It’s amazing.
